  • AC 2 Tier:- 50 kg free, 10 kg marginal, 100 total permitted
  • AC 3 Tier:- 40 kg free, 10 kg marginal, 40 total permitted as per indian railways luggage rules
  • Sleeper:- 40 kg free, 10 kg marginal, 80 total permitted
  • Second Class:- 35 kg free, 10 kg marginal, 70 total permitted
  • If the luggage weight goes beyond free allowance as per indian railways luggage rules, it is charged according to rates that are applicable to relevant travelling class
  • Indian railways luggage rules say that Passengers should get their tickets endorsed with luggage before commencing the journey
  • Difference of fare paid(concessional)and fare payable (non concessional) will be applicable, in case senior citizen supporting document are not shown by the passenger travelling on senior citizen concessional ticket
